Spring 2006 - Krystine defends him at DUI trial and wins; Tony enters AA and gets clean

Summer 2006 - Jim has scored another musical, which flops badly; Tony has to go overseas for a month as part of his job; Allison dies while he's gone; Krystine finds out she's pregnant; Everyone comes back for funeral; while home, Jim meets Krystine's coworker Amanda.

Fall 2006 - Tony's drinking again, but not getting drunk, just trying to "ease the pain" of missing Allison and the guilt he feels over having been away when she died.
February 2007 - Krystine has baby boy, named Alistair [Krystine's maiden name] [Mike's last name]; Jim runs into Amanda again, they get coffee, agree to keep in touch.

Spring 2007 - Jim produces another musical; critics pan it, but crowds won't stop coming, and he managed to get a contract that paid royalties per show, so his income from this one never really ends; he decides to move back home and work on classical music

Summer 2007 - Jim moves home, gets with Amanda, gets close with Mike and Krys and Alistair and whatnot.

Spring 2008 - Mike graduates with PhD in economics, immediately gets assistant professor job at the university.

Summer 2008 - Jim marries Amanda. Tony gets pretty drunk at the wedding.

Fall 2008 - Tony is a fullblown alcoholic; the kids try to stage an intervention and he screams at them until they leave; he slaps Jim.

Early 2009 - Krys has another baby boy, named Michael Jr.

Late 2009 - Tony is hospitalized and told he needs to stop drinking or he'll die. He goes back to AA, stops drinking.

Early 2010 - Jim is now turning out music like all ghettout, constantly being contacted by various groups to write stuff for them.

Late 2010 - Amanda gets pregnant. Apparently she's a pretty bitchy pregnant chick, too.

Spring 2011 - Jim goes to New York to help produce another musical he's written; stays about a month. Cheats on Amanda with the lead actress, Yvette?

August 2011 - Amanda has little girl, named Hannah.

September 2011 - Harry, Mike's graduate assistant, enters the picture.
Late 2011 - Tony is drinking AGAIN, says he can handle it, blah blah blah.

Spring 2012 - It is revealed (to Jim? Through email?) that Mike and Krys haven't had sex in like 2 years, which she blames on her weight gain during and after the second pregnancy. She thinks he's nailing a female student. Jim asks Mike if he's cheating, and Mike doesn't deny it, but evades the question.

Summer 2012 - Tension between Mike and Krys comes to a head, and she takes the kids and moves in temporarily with Jim and Amanda. Neither of them will accept counseling; Krys files for no-fault divorce (find a state in which this is possible (that also has a sizeable state school with a law school!)) and Mike accepts.

August 2012 - Amanda is pregnant again.

Fall 2012 - Mike gives Krys the house, moves into an apartment in town. Rumors start to grow about Mike and Harry. Jim straight up asks if Mike's doing him. Mike doesn't answer; Jim asks if they were kicking it while the marriage was still valid. Mike doesn't answer.

November 2012 - Krys figures out that Mike and Harry were kicking it, but never confronts Mike about it, since she's already getting the house and hell of alimony.

Thanksgiving 2012 - Whole family rolls up on Tony's house for dinner, there's a big blowup, Krys screams something about a "fucking faggot" at Mike. Tony, no idiot, figures out that Mike had been fucking dudes while married to his daughter. Mike leaves, everybody calms down, Tony gets good and ripped, drives over to Mike's apartment at like 2am to confront him and get answers, ends up slapping him around, goes to far, ends up beating him pretty badly. Realizes too late what he's done, calls 911, ambulance comes and takes Mike, Tony goes to jail.

2 days later - Mike finally dies of cracked skull. Local DA upgrades Tony's charges from first degree assault to 2nd degree murder. Amanda loses her baby.

Mid December 2012 - Tony gets bailed out of jail after his arraignment, goes home, hangs himself. Krystine finds his body when she stops by to check in on him, has a major league nervous breakdown.

Various notes

Several chapters consist only of computer chatting between characters? Me likey
Might work in college; would that still work for busy people in their 40s?

Everyone feels guilty afterwards for not talking to Tony about why homosexuality is awesome; but somebody points out that who would have known it would matter? They were more concerned about his drinking.

Even afterwards, people ignore his drinking as the root cause and focus on his fear of homosexuals? hm.
